What are voluntary benefits?

Voluntary benefits represent a variety of worksite products offered through an employer or large organization. Many of these products are typically employee-paid and oftentimes arranged on a group-discounted basis. Voluntary benefits include various insurance products, work/life programs, and other related consumer products and financial services, all available to eligible individuals on a discretionary basis.

What is Voluntary Benefits Outsourcing (VBO)?

VBO is a proven cost reduction solution whereby employers and large organizations look to outside firms to reduce administrative costs associated with managing voluntary benefits, work/life programs, and other non-core offerings. Partnering with YouDecide for VBO results in cost efficiencies due to a reduction or redirection of resources as well as from consolidation of payroll slots into a single deduction file to be managed within the SureDeduct™ single-slot, payroll deduction facility.

What can my employees or members expect to save with voluntary benefits group insurance through YouDecide?

Voluntary benefits group insurance savings may be in excess of 20% in some product cases and will vary according to the size, experience (if any), and demographics of the plan sponsor. Examples of insurance offerings administered by YouDecide include, but are not limited to: automobile, homeowners, life, vision, accident, critical illness, disability, dental, long-term care, pet care, and legal services.

What can my employees or members expect to save on non-insurance products and services through YouDecide?

Non-insurance savings range up to 40% in some product cases and will vary according to the provider and promotional offers. Examples of non-insurance products and services available through YouDecide include: computers, electronics, movie tickets, auto financing, educational testing, cellular services, travel, child care, and a host of other offers.

How much does YouDecide cost?

Generally speaking, an employer or large organization's embedded insurance commissions will support YouDecide's benefits consulting, platform administration, and set-up costs, including implementation of YouDecide's SureDeduct™ single-slot, payroll deduction capability. YouDecide's compensation may be derived from a combination of existing and/or emerging voluntary benefits commissions, platform implementation fees, and/or "per employee per month" fees.

How would an employee or member gain access to YouDecide?

Once implemented, employees and members access YouDecide using a "high-tech" and "high-touch" approach. Each client is provided a private-labeled, product-customized portal accessed from the benefits portion of their respective intranets via optional single sign-on or by phone through YouDecide's licensed call center advisors.

Are voluntary benefits purchased through YouDecide portable?

Portability depends on the policies of the specific providers and products purchased. For example, if an employee or member previously used SureDeduct™ payroll deduction to pay their auto & homeowners insurance premiums, policy continuation would exist direct with the respective insurance carrier(s) on a direct-bill or electronic funds transfer (EFT) basis. Any group-discounted pricing that may have been enjoyed would typically continue until the policy renewal period-at which point standard underwriting would occur.

Can I integrate my existing voluntary benefits and non-insurance offerings?

Existing voluntary benefits and non-insurance offerings can easily be integrated into the YouDecide framework. YouDecide will review any existing voluntary benefits program to ensure appropriateness of product and carrier selection at the best pricing available. As part of the YouDecide portal customization process, YouDecide's own nationally-footprinted non-insurance offerings are available to clients either exclusively, in combination with an existing arrangement, or on a menu basis.

How long is the implementation process?

Following a review of a client's existing program by YouDecide consultants and with carrier/product selection finalized, standard implementation can typically be completed within 90 days. Can YouDecide integrate with my Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) provider and other payroll vendors?

YouDecide integrates with all HROs and payroll vendors using YouDecide's SureDeduct™ payroll deduction capability. SureDeduct™ is a rules-based system, providing accurate and timely payroll collection and reconciliation services with only one deduction file for the employer or large organization to manage.

How does YouDecide protect the privacy of my employees?

YouDecide securely protects the privacy of members' personal information. YouDecide remains committed to ensuring client employees and members receive the highest level of privacy and confidentiality with respect to customer service, IT systems, data exchange, internal procedures and methodologies, and data transactions with partners. YouDecide does not sell personal information to outside third parties.

How secure is YouDecide's technology?

YouDecide is hosted in an SAS-70 / Level II certified environment. YouDecide partners with security firm Accuvant to perform periodic security tests, including vulnerability and penetration testing, as well as review of YouDecide security policies compared to industry best practices. When transmitted to/from YouDecide, sensitive data is protected by a variety of methods, including PGP-encryption, private circuit, VPN, and 128-bit HTTPS encryption when the data is accessed via the web.

Which additional work/life services does YouDecide help to manage?

YouDecide can, at the direction of the client, make certain accommodations for additional work/life services outside the ordinary scope of YouDecide's VBO solution. Ancillary work/life services that have been managed by YouDecide on behalf of clients include administration of public transportation and parking programs fully incorporated into the SureDeduct™ payroll deduction system. There may be additional costs, however, for extraordinary customizations which can be discussed with YouDecide during your initial needs assessment.

What if I have an existing consultant or advisor

YouDecide looks to complementand not compete with long-standing client benefits consultant/broker relationships. YouDecide views the consultant/broker community as meaningful distribution partners with the ability to foster value beyond an introduction. Does YouDecide offer voluntary benefits enrollment services?

YouDecide provides enrollment services for voluntary benefits using a proprietary enrollment application and via partnerships with third-party enrollment services providers.

What are the various customization options?

YouDecide includes certain standard customizations within the compensation arrangement. Standard customizations during the implementation process include, but are not necessarily limited to, private-labeling of the client's YouDecide portal and selection of non-insurance products selected by the client either exclusively, in combination with an existing client arrangement, or chosen on a menu basis.
