This privacy statement applies to the commerce platforms operated by YouDecide.com, Inc. ("YouDecide", "We", "Our", "Us") and the information we collect. Even if you never purchase any products or services offered on the YouDecide platform, we may still have some information about you. Information may have been provided to us from your employer or member group that identifies you as an eligible participant. This privacy policy applies to that information as well.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any websites owned or operated by our provider partners (merchants and insurance carriers) or the information they may collect when you interact with them. We encourage you to access each provider partner's Privacy Policy posted on their site for that information.


Notice Regarding Children

All registrants on the YouDecide platform must be 18 years of age or older. Children under 18 may not register or use the YouDecide platform to purchase products or services. If you believe that we may have collected information from someone under 18, please contact YouDecide.


Notice Regarding "Do Not Sell My Information"

YouDecide never sells the personal information of its platform participants, eligible members, or clients. Because of this, we do not have a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link on our platform.

Are You an Employee of a Client Working with YouDecide?

Most users gain access to the YouDecide platform through their employer or member group. In these cases, YouDecide has an agreement with your employer or member group (“our client”) to offer you products and services via our platform on their behalf. YouDecide is obligated to process the personal information we are provided by our client (“eligibility information”) in accordance with our client agreement. In such circumstances, the employer/group is ultimately responsible for determining how your personal information will be handled as well as which providers appear on the platform. Thus, you may need to contact your employer or member group rather than YouDecide to exercise the right to:

Be aware that even if you do not register or purchase anything on the YouDecide platform, YouDecide retains your eligibility information for as long as you are in the eligible group. Collecting, Using, and Sharing Your Information


YouDecide does not receive financial incentives for collecting your information. YouDecide receives a commission for the sale of insurance policies, just as any insurance agent would. YouDecide may receive fees from merchants to be placed on our platform and a fee for featuring a provider in our marketing newsletter.

A Note About Intermediaries

Employers, member groups, and providers on our platform may engage intermediaries to assist in their platform activities. For example, if your employer uses a payroll processing company and offers payment for insurance premiums via payroll deduction, your employer may direct YouDecide to interact with that payroll processing company on their behalf. In the descriptions below of information exchanges with your employer/group or with a provider, the terms “employer/group” and “provider” are inclusive of any intermediaries they may direct us to interact with on their behalf. Cookies and other tracking technologies may be used by YouDecide to analyze trends, administer the website, track users' movements around the website, and gather information about our user base as a whole. We gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or other data to help provide usage statistics.

Usage statistics are aggregated (non-personally identifiable) and are provided in reports to our clients and provider partners. We do NOT use cookie and tracking information to provide you with targeted ads or to do behavioral profiling for marketing purposes. You can control the use of optional cookies via the “Manage Cookies” option on the platform. If you choose to disable all cookies from within your browser, the YouDecide platform will not work. If you set your browser to “Do Not Track,” this will not affect the use and function of the YouDecide platform, as YouDecide does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

Our Provider Partners

Our provider partners may employ their own cookies and/or tracking technologies. If you click on a link to a provider partner's website, you become subject to that provider's cookie policies. Refer to the provider's Cookie Policy and/or Privacy Policy on the provider's website for further information.

How We Share or Disclose Your Information

YouDecide does not sell your information and does not share your information with any external entities who are not involved in providing services on our platform. We have agreements with our platform providers that oblige them not to sell or share your information outside of the terms of that agreement, and to provide safeguards to ensure your data is protected from unauthorized disclosure.

How Our Provider Partners Use Your Information

Each provider partner participating on our platform collects information based on the services or products they offer and according to their operating policies and underwriting guidelines. In some cases, such as when providing a quote for services, YouDecide may collect information from you on their behalf, securely transmit the information to the provider partner electronically, then transmit information back to you. In other cases, we provide a link to the provider's website so that you can complete the quoting or sign-up process there (external to YouDecide).

Our provider partners will not use information collected by YouDecide to telemarket their services to you, nor will they place you on a mailing list. If you interact with or purchase products or services from a provider partner, you become part of their customer base and they will handle your information and communications in accordance with their company's operational and privacy policies. This is outside of YouDecide's control. We encourage you to obtain and read the privacy policies of each of the provider partners with whom you do business.

Information Shared with Third-party Data Services Partners

YouDecide enlists the services of third-party business partners to assist us in carrying out our mission. Among these are cloud hosting, data analytics, marketing services, VoIP services, and data security consultants. We have signed agreements with each of these entities and they are required to maintain confidentiality and security of the data they handle. Each is also required to implement physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect any personally identifiable data and to alert YouDecide of any security incidents or data breaches involving your data.

Platform providers Some platform providers require YouDecide to share your eligibility information (including some personal identifiers) with them so that they may provide services to you. If you request an insurance quote or purchase an insurance product/service, YouDecide will share your needed personal identifiers and personal information with them. If applicable, YouDecide shares payment information for insurance premiums with the respective provider (to be used in payroll processing).
Your employer/member group YouDecide shares payroll deduction information with your employer for products/services you purchased (if applicable).

We value your privacy and guard your personal information as if it were our own. We have an ethical responsibility to protect it, not just a legal responsibility. We protect information provided to us via the YouDecide website in the same way we protect information provided to us over the phone or any other way (e.g., fax, email, etc.).

Our Data Security & Privacy Measures

YouDecide uses state-of-the-art tools and methods, including encryption, to protect your information at all times - when collected, stored, transmitted, or displayed. While no security mechanism can be 100% guaranteed, we provide a secure platform utilizing SSL protocols that encrypts your data over the Internet. All transmissions containing personal information – such as to/from your employer/group and to/from our provider partners – are encrypted. Within YouDecide's network, firewalls and authentication rules limit access to your personal information to only authorized YouDecide workers. Our staff is trained on privacy and security safeguards and understands the consequences if these are violated. All system interactions are monitored, logged, and reviewed, and we have automated alerts to warn us of unusual activity. Independent security firms perform penetration tests to verify our safeguards are working appropriately to protect our network and your data. These are just a few of the many examples of the security measures we take.

Accessibility Compliance

YouDecide strives to make its platforms compliant with current website accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and Section 508, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. International Data Processing

All of YouDecide's data is stored and processed within the confines of the United States of America (USA). If you access your YouDecide account from outside the USA, be aware that the country in which you are located may have different data protection laws. If you are in the EU or UK, YouDecide relies on the safeguards set forth in Articles 46 and 49 of the GDPR to transfer your data across international borders. YouDecide does not target or market to audiences in the EU or UK.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your data for as long as it is needed for processing your requests, complying with our client and provider agreements, and for our own internal legal or financial requirements. We will retain your data as long as you remain eligible to help answer questions. However, the following are examples of data that are deleted or de-identified sooner.

If we make substantive changes to our privacy practices, we are required to notify you. Notification will be made via the platform and via email. The changes will apply to all information we have about you. Check the effective date at the top of this notice to verify you are reading the most current version.

We have a responsibility to notify you if your personal information was involved in an inappropriate disclosure (disclosure to an unauthorized person) or was involved in a data breach.

Mergers & Acquisitions

While we make every effort to block malware and avoid inaccuracies, YouDecide and our provider partners are not liable for any damage that may arise from the use of our platform. YouDecide is not responsible for the content provided by our participating provider partners on our platform. YouDecide may terminate your account if you violate our Terms of Use.
